Tuesday, May 22nd
RALEIGH - ATLANTIC BEACH
This morning enjoy a Raleigh City Tour to see the State Capitol Building and drive through Downtown & the Victorian neighborhood of Oakwood. Later, motorcoach south through the cypress trees and long leaf pines of Croatan National Forest to Atlantic Beach and your waterfront hotel for two nights. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner this evening with your fellow travelers.
Wednesday, May 23rd
NEW BERN - CRUISE - BEAUFORT
Travel north to New Bern to visit Tryon Palace, North Carolina's first permanent state capitol where governors ruled, patriots gathered, and George Washington danced. See the Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola, invented by a local pharmacist in 1898. Then enjoy an Inner Banks Lunch Cruise to view charming historic homes, working waterfronts, and possibly see dolphins and wild horses along the banks. Later explore the town of Beaufort, established in 1709 and the state's third oldest town. Visit the 2-acre Beaufort Historic Site which depicts 18th & 19th century coastal Carolina & sits in the middle of a 12-block area on the National Register of Historic Places. Then shop or grab a treat along historic Front Street. Return to Atlantic Beach.
Thursday, May 24th
OCRACOKE ISLAND - NAGS HEAD
Today travel to Cedar Island to board a ferry and cross the Pamlico Sound to colorful Ocracoke Island. The town has the feel of a New England village with a semi-tropical climate. The afternoon is at leisure to explore, grab a bite and shop. Later ferry to Hatteras Island, and see the famous candy-striped Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the tallest brick lighthouse in the U.S. Then, arrive at your beachfront hotel in Nags Head for a relaxing three night stay.
Friday, May 25th
ROANOKE - WRIGHT BROTHERS
This morning cross over to Roanoke Island for a visit to Fort Raleigh, home of the first English settlement in the New World. This was the "Lost Colony" founded by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1585, pre-dating both Jamestown and Plymouth. Then, visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, where after four years of scientific experimentation, the brothers achieved the first successful airplane flight on December 17, 1903. Enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers in the Nags Head area.

Tavel Day - Mt. Airy, NC - Andy Griffith Museum
As you head west from the dramatic landscapes of the Outer Banks, a delightful stop in Mt. Airy, North Carolina offers a charming dose of nostalgia. The real-life inspiration for the fictional town of Mayberry from The Andy Griffith Show, Mt. Airy lets you stroll down Main Street lined with preserved storefronts, snap photos with the Andy Griffith statue, visit Floyd’s City Barber Shop, and explore the Andy Griffith Museum filled with memorabilia, vintage cars, and exhibits celebrating the beloved TV series. It’s a wholesome, small-town America experience that feels like stepping onto a classic TV set.
